Partials is rooted in a variety of musical styles. One of the most influential for us is Fela Kuti’s own Afrobeat, a brash, punchy fusion of west African dance music and American jazz which is largely responsible for the original emergence of american funk.

In 2019, Partials assembled the SuperPAC (heh): A supergroup of our favorite Athens, GA musicians for a Georgia Theatre Rooftop residency. It took 4 nights and more than a dozen musicians to properly pay tribute to the players that inspired us.
